10/25/08 *Fifth Show* (The Halloween Show)

Hope everyone who listened enjoyed the show today. Sorry about the sound of "Season of the Witch" and "Boris the Spider". The turntable that was playing those songs was on the wrong setting. And I didn't check. So, this show featured my younger brother, Craig, for a little, and included a shout out to my friend, Mike, from back home. Anyway, ...

The Playlist:
Season of the Witch by Donovan
Superstition by Stevie Wonder
Boris the Spider by The Who
Witchy Woman by The Eagles
Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen by Santana
Frankenstein by The Edgar Winter Group
Spooky by The Classics IV

Next week: Election songs!

No Show for 10/18/08

Sorry, folks. The DJ I'm apprenticing under went away for the weekend and no cleared DJs showed up to fill in the airtime. But don't worry, I'll be back next week with a very spooky show! :)

10/11/08 *Fourth Show*

Pretty good today. I played most of the songs from LPs.

The Playlist:
The Zombies- Time of the Season
Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run
Billy Joel- Stiletto
The Grateful Dead- Friend of the Devil
David Bowie- Life on Mars
The Fratellis- Flathead
Tina Turner- Simply the Best

And I got a call as the final song was ending from another DJ at the station. He said that he enjoyed hearing Life on Mars on the radio without it being requested. Quite cool!

10/4/08 *Third Show*

Not quite bad. I did feel that I could've planned things out a bit better today. Anyway ...

The Playlist:
Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head (BJ Thomas): for Paul Newman
Werewolves of London (Warren Zevon): October song of the week
Homeward Bound (Simon and Garfunkel): for those who were/are/will be on break
Money Talks (AC/DC): The bailout and the new AC/DC album and tour
Mercedes Benz (Janis Joplin): in memory of her passing
You are the Sunshine of My Life (Stevie Wonder): request from my mom
Abracadabra (Steve Miller Band)
Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie)

No video recordings of this show. I'm going to see if I can do a live show on Stickam next week.

9/20/08 *Second Show*

It was pretty good.

The Playlist:
- Great Gig in the Sky in memory of Rick Wright.
- I Got a Line On You because of Burn After Reading. And it's one of my new favorite songs.
- What Time is It? for my high school band teacher, Randy Schwartz.
- 5:15 because it was 5:15.
- Shambala because I was in the mood.
- Lawyers, Guns, and Money because of recent political happenings.
- Three Little Birds for people having hard times.

I actually got 3 calls. The first was from Mad Man Mark, in response to why I chose to play Great Gig in the Sky. The second was dead air. The third was a request for Umbrella by Rhianna from a guy named Steve. He ended the call with "You suck." I didn't play it. There was also a request on AIM for Burnin' Up by the Jonas Brothers. I didn't play it. And I had to hit the Dump Switch because of a curse in Lawyers, Guns, and Money. Totally my bad.

I'll be at home late next week on Rosh Hashanah break, but I'll be on campus for Yom Kippur break, so I'll definitely be on the air then. If you listened, thanks! If you didn't listen, you have two weeks to get ready.

Highlights from today's show:

9/13/08 *First Show*

First off, let me say that this was a long day. I started off by having brunch around 11. I did some homework until about 3:30, when I grabbed a bit to eat, then headed over to the radio station for my first apprenticing lesson/radio slot.  The time passed quickly and was quite enjoyable.
